Job Description:
- Travels to and from project sites to observe and identify constructed structural elements to ensure general conformance with structural construction documents.
- Takes thorough and accurate notes and job site photographs to adequately and effectively document construction status.
- Learn to observe and identify constructed structural elements to ensure general conformance with structural construction documents.
- Perform site observations with limited supervision, generate site observation reports, and review data before submission to the Project Manager for approval.
- Acquires strong knowledge of standard construction materials and practices.
- Gains general knowledge of engineering terminology and basic engineering concepts.
- Develops the ability to read and interpret construction documents, including architectural and structural plans, details, sections, general notes, and project specifications.
- Achieves proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam for effective communication through written and limited drawn media.
- Applies prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Responsible for attending training opportunities.
- Exemplifies company vision, mission, and values.
- Advocates for self and coordinates with project staff and management in a timely manner.
- Performs any other duties as deemed appropriate or necessary by the Management Team.
- $17.00-$28.00 depending on experience
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- This job operates outside, in a field environment. While working in the field, may be exposed to seasonal weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, and heat. Routinely uses PPE and other safety equipment.
- Ability to walk around construction sites with uneven and varying terrain.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
Ideal Candidate:
- 0-3 years of experience in the construction industry.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable but not required.
