BIM Technician (Revit Modeler)
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience with Autodesk’s Revit software with emphasis on its structural modeling capabilities.
- Experienced with drafting standards in the residential and commercial industries.
- Has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; however, higher education is desired.
- Must currently be an “Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Structural Design” or working towards this certification.
General Characteristics
- Possesses in-depth knowledge and skill using Autodesk’s Revit software for the purpose of developing structural construction documents.
- Works from sketches, notes, arch. backgrounds, etc. to produce computer-generated drawings and notes.
- Compares drawings and models from Architects and other outside sources to our drawings and makes changes/variations aware to the project team.
- Performs routine pick-up of red lines in a complete and accurate manner.
- Has a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of architectural and structural symbols and graphic standards.
- Ensures managers are aware of workload and requests work and/or requests help when needed.
- Meets deadlines or makes team aware of difficulties with appropriate notice.
- Responsible for attending training opportunities.
- Exemplifies company vision, mission and values.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate or needed by Management Team.
Technical Responsibilities
- Acquires general knowledge of construction practices and serves as a back-check for the engineer.
- Recommends new methods and procedures for completion of drawings.
- Follow office standards for file and project naming and organization.
- Plotting print sets and/or electronic sets and organizing them for distribution.
- Utilize the in-office library to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Efficient, accurate, and complete information documentation.
- Learn and execute company and general drafting standards.
Direction Received
- Receives direction and supervision from Design Staff.
- Receives training and review from Revit Committee Members and Senior Staff.
- Accountable to Principal(s), Associate Principal(s), Senior Project Manager(s), Project Manager(s) and Business Management Team, with input from Senior CAD Technician(s), Project Engineer(s) and Project Engineer(s).
Managerial Responsibilities
- Back check own work to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinates with design staff and administrative staff.
Communication Skills
- Interacts professionally with staff, and others as needed.
- Conveys questions, difficulties, and problems with the appropriate people in a timely manner.
- Communicates with all staff to appropriately prioritize multiple jobs.

General Wage Range: 0-2 years $16-$22/hr., 2-4 years $20-25/hr., 4-10 years $23-$32/hr. (Non-Exempt)
